your opportunity
Based at Port Pirie and working with the CARE Plus team, you will work intensively with students and their families to address personal barriers and encourage positive engagement with school. You will work with primary and high school students and their families under an outreach model.
Your role will include:
• provide case management support to students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from school
• plan and develop case plans for each family, including individual case plans for children and young people
• provide practical supports such as transport to school
• referrals as appropriate
This position will initially be appointed on a maximum term basis until 30 June 2023, with the possibility of extension.
what we are looking for
Ideally you will have experience providing case management supports to children, young people and families with complex needs. You may be an experienced youth worker within a school setting or a recent graduate who has experience working with families.
You will bring:
• passion, commitment and belief in young people
• minimum of Diploma level qualification in a human services field
• knowledge and understanding of the diverse range of issues impacting on families
• demonstrated ability to communicate and engage with children and young people and their families from diverse backgrounds
• high level of interpersonal and written skills
