As a Financial Counsellor, you will provide client centred services relating to financial/problem gambling advice, information and support. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for individuals and families affected by problem gambling.

About The Role
Working as part of our team some key responsibilities include but is not limited to:

Provide face to face and telephone financial counselling, casework, information and options to problem gamblers with financial difficulties

Work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure best outcomes for clients

Provide financial literacy programs to eligible person/s in the community through one on one budgeting support and through facilitation of group training.

Provide supported use of tools and resources to implement family and household budgeting, bill paying, debt management, savings plans and purchases.

Provide assistance and advocacy with accessing financial institutions, products and services and managing debt.

Manage time appropriately and demonstrate high level organisational skills.

Essential Criteria
- Be an accredited member of the Financial Counsellors’ Association of NSW (FCAN);or accreditation to be completed in six months)
- Have experience in problem gambling and associated financial issues
- Possess demonstrated skills and experience in counselling;
- Have experience and /or competency in delivering community education programs;
- Demonstrated telephone counselling and client assessment experience;
- Demonstrate highly developed communication skills in written and oral situations
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the issues contributing to an individual’s and/or household financial stress / hardship
- Demonstrate computer competency including use of Microsoft Office and databases
- Hold a current NSW driver’s license
