The Centre for Women & Co. exists to deliver responsive, high quality and holistic women services to the Logan and Redland Regions, delivering domestic and family violence and women’s health and wellbeing support services.
The Role – First Nations Identified HRT Case Manager
The Identified High Risk Team Case Manager is responsible for providing services directly to women who are experiencing Domestic and/or Family Violence for the HRT actions. The HRT Case Manager directly responds to Aboriginal and/or Torres Straight HRT clients who are in crisis, providing immediate support to clients requiring risk assessment, safety intervention and planning as well as urgent referrals and supportive monitoring and follow up. You will work collaboratively with team members, HRT core members and other organisations to develop appropriate and innovative responses to prevent violence within the Logan and/or Redlands community.
The Identified HRT Case Manager will attend the weekly HRT meetings when reviewing First Nations cases to provide a cultural lens to ensure that First Nations clients are appropriately supported within a multi-agency response.
The Identified HRT Case Manager will also consult with other CFW team members to ensure that our practice is culturally safe.
The position reports directly to the Program Manager (HRT Co-ordinator). Working with the Program Manager (HRT Co-ordinator), the position requires supporting and building the partnerships and external relationships.
Level 5.1 SCHADS Award
3 days per week Wednesday to Friday – contract end date June 2026
About You
You will have relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, psychologic or human services (alongside relevant experience) received from a recognised university. For the purposes of this role you will need to identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
You will have demonstrated experience and comprehensive knowledge of domestic and family violence and its effect on women, children and the wider community and understanding of working within current legislation (Domestic and Family Violence Act, 2012). You will also have a deep understanding and application of the impacts of domestic and family violence on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
You will have a thorough understanding of trauma-informed practice and are able to manage your own time.

Selection Criteria:
- Identifies as a First Nations Person
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in the human services field, social work, psychology or similar, and relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in supporting women who have experienced domestic and family violence including the provision of crisis/therapeutic counselling, case management and an understanding of DV dynamics and risk assessment and response; including demonstrated knowledge of DFV response and counselling frameworks, risk assessment and safety frameworks, appropriate for domestic and family violence.
- Knowledge of the complex issues affecting women who have experienced domestic and family violence
- Working within current legislation (Child Protection Act 1999) and (Domestic and Family Violence Act 2012)
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills and supporting teams.
- Excellent written and oral skills, including demonstrated ability to write and present clearly and concisely for other professionals and clients.
