First Nations RAP Lead BaptistCare NSW & ACT

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Permanent part-time 16 hours per week – flexible/hybrid working
• Lead & oversee the implementation of BaptistCare’s inaugural Reflect RAP
• Act as the subject matter advisor on Reconciliation Action & cultural safety

About the role:

As part of our commitment and intention to nurture social justice and meaningful reconciliation with First Nations peoples, for the benefit of the whole community, the Reconciliation Action Plan Lead will project manage key initiatives in BaptistCare’s inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) focused on enhancing cultural safety, and monitor progress against RAP milestones.  This role will also provide subject matter expertise to management and leadership on cultural safety and reconciliation.

Reporting to the Sustainability Manager, you will work closely with the Reconciliation Action Plan Co-Chairs, RAP Working Group, and stakeholders to lead, contribute and monitor the implementation of the RAP.

You will be key in providing advice and expertise to management and leadership on evolving cultural awareness and safety within the organisation. You will partner across the organisation to drive key projects and initiatives set out in the RAP, monitor and report on RAP implementation and progress, and engage internal and external stakeholders on the development of future action plans.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Knowledge and understanding, including deep lived experience of the historical and contemporary issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Relevant experience supporting reconciliation action and initiatives, fostering cultural safety and nurturing relationships
  • Demonstrated passion and commitment to reconciliation
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in areas reconciliation and cultural safety
  • Demonstrated presentation and public speaking skills
  • Experience and expertise in developing relationships with major donors/stakeholders and crafting and implementing major donor strategies and communication plans.
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Genuine alignment to BaptistCare’s vision, purpose and values.
