About the program
ermha365 has been appointed as the Mental Health In-reach service at Magistrates’ Court Victoria’s Shepparton Drug Court. We’re thrilled to be working with the Drug Court, supporting people with entrenched drug or alcohol dependency and offending behaviour to make positive changes in their lives.
About You
With confidence in your abilities that is backed by experience in mental health nursing, social work or related discipline, you will thrive within a multi-disciplinary team environment and be focused on quality outcomes for people. As this is a new service you will be skilled in “forging a path” and be capable of developing effective and collaborative relationships with a variety of people and services. In addition you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications and registration / membership with AHPRA or AASW
- Sound knowledge of forensic mental health and the Mental Health Act (2014)
- Demonstrated clinical competence in the application of clinical skills in a variety of psychiatric settings including community settings
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be assertive, collaborative and remain calm under pressure
- A can-do attitude that is driven by a desire to help others and achieve the best outcomes
It is a requirement of this position to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and meet all compliance requirements in relation to NDIS Work Screening, Working With Children’s Check, work rights and possess a current & valid driver’s license.
About the Role
The Forensic Mental Health Clinician, Drug Court is a newly created full time role that will initially operate until 30 June 2023. It has been established to provide assessment and treatment advice to the newly established drug court in Shepparton. Working within a small multi-disciplinary team, the Forensic Mental Health Clinician will provide:
- High level forensic clinical and risk assessments and formulation of clients with complex mental health and other needs (e.g: alcohol or drugs (AOD), offending);
- Effective assessment of clients displaying symptoms of/or who have been diagnosed with a mental illness that may require identification of referral or treatment pathways;
- Secondary consultations
- Expert consultation to Justice and other involved services.
While ermha365 continues to operate face-to-face services through COVID-19 we are taking appropriate actions to ensure that our staff and the people we support are as safe as possible.
You will be expected to adhere to all COVID-19 standards, requirements and processes including (but not limited to) wearing appropriate PPE and regular hygiene and cleanliness practices.
