  • full-time role (38 hours per week) plus an on-call roster allowance

About the programs

Regional GambleAware provider (North Sydney Central Coast). A stepped, multimodal program that provides person centred and tailored support to individuals, families and significant others, who have been impacted by gambling harm. This is achieved through the delivery of:

  • face to face, phone and digital therapeutic counselling
  • delivery of Psycho- educational and gambling related group programs
  • awareness raising and early intervention activities/ events.

NSW GambleAware Telehealth Helpline. This service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year.

As part of the NSW integrated GambleAware service model, the GambleAware helpline is designed to provide brief, solution focused, phone-based support to individuals and family members who are experiencing gambling harm, as well as providing clear pathways, support options and referrals to local providers, for those seeking ongoing assistance and treatment.

 

About the role

We are seeing an experienced and highly motivated leader to join and oversee our dynamic GambleAware services. This exciting role will be responsible for the management and delivery of the following programs.

 

Essential criteria

  • degree (or above) qualification in Counselling or Psychology
  • registered with Australian Psychological Society (APS), The Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA)
  • minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in the community sector
  • experience in the supervision of staff and team development in a multi-disciplinary team
  • experience and training in addiction and/or gambling counselling
  • comprehensive understanding and experience of utilising a range of modalities including CBT, DBT, Motivational interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment therapy and Mindfulness
  • proven organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and budgets
  • cultural competence and experience working alongside CALD and Aboriginal families
  • current NSW or National Driver’s Licence
  • successful applicant will need a Working with Children’s Check & National Criminal Record Check
  • ability and willingness to provide after hours on call support on a rotating roster basis.

 

Desirable criteria

  • completion, or close to completion, of a management or leadership course
  • an appreciation of the challenges involved in managing a diverse workforce within a not-for-profit environment
  • experience in managing electronic files and data bases
  • experience managing stakeholder relationships in the government funded/ not for profit sector with the capability to report outcomes to key funding bodies.

 

Remuneration

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 7. Generous salary packaging, a motor vehicle and applicable allowances available.
