General Counsellor (Part-Time) CENTRECARE

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are a not-for-profit organisation located throughout the Perth metropolitan, Goldfields and Bunbury region and are committed to delivering quality professional counselling, housing and accommodation services, family violence services, mediation, justice programs and out of home care services.

The opportunity on offer is for an experienced Counsellor with a passion of working within the Bunbury Counselling and Family Support Service on a part-time basis.

A Few Specifics

  • Screening, assessments and support planning;
  • Selecting and providing appropriate brief intervention supports for clients whether they be clients or carers.
  • Assessing supports and ensuring that they are appropriate to meeting clients’ needs.
  • Deliver evidence-based counselling and group interventions.
  • Referring and assisting clients to access appropriate mainstream specialist services and support groups;
  • Providing information and education to clients, carers, families and other service providers; and providing and/or arranging support for carers and families

What you need:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications relevant to counselling role (e.g. psychology, social work and/or related social sciences) with eligibility for membership of a relevant professional association.
  • Relevant experience with working with children and families with complex needs e.g. domestic violence, homelessness, abuse, schooling issues, family breakdown.
  • Experience in case management and coordination of client services
