We are seeking an experienced Family Violence leader to step into this newly created General Manager of Crisis and Brief Intervention!
Our integrated family violence service provides programs to women and children who experience family violence including 24/7 crisis response, court support, crisis housing and case management. We also provide services to promote healing and recovery such as children’s counselling.
The General Manager Crisis & Brief Intervention is responsible for managing high risk, highly complex teams delivering crisis and brief intervention services for women and children experiencing family or domestic violence.
Drawing on significant social work and leadership experience in family violence services this pivotal role oversees daily operations and program delivery.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
• Operational management and supervision of complex service streams including Crisis response, The Orange Door intake team, RAMP (risk assessment management panel), FSP (flexible support packages) and PSI (personal safety initative)
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements for employees working in family violence services
• Ensure consistency of organisational practices across all streams including structured risk assessment and mitigation processes, and compliance with key organisational, legislative and funding body standards.
• Ensures Clinical governance and high-quality client service delivery is current across services through delivery, development and monitoring of relevant workplace policies, procedures and processes using client led and evidence-based practise.
• Implement as required by law, reform, best practise or direction from the CEO change to policy or practise. Manage the associated change process, implementation, and ongoing compliance, identifying improvements and success through formal and informal reporting structures.
• Contribute to GenWest’s strategic planning shaping the future direction and developing the capacity of GenWest to operate effectively, enhancing the long-term sustainability of its work
• Supported by People & Culture takes a leading role in organisation and sector capability building including leadership development for direct reports, supervision of the mandatory minimum qualifications policy and development of pipelined talent for the future. Particularly support greater employment of community members with cultural knowledge and experience, and/or lived experience who may have barriers entering and building careers in family violence support.

Key Selection Criteria
1. AASW Membership (current or eligible) with required AASW recognised supervision
2. Tertiary qualifications in social work or a related field required with relevant post-graduate qualifications highly regarded .
3. Extensive leadership experience in the family violence sector and crisis response
4. Understanding of the specialist family violence sector in Victoria and current working knowledge of sector reforms
5. Significant experience in supervising and leading teams working in the family violence sector for successful achievement of program goals and tasks.
6. Demonstrated working knowledge of government policies as they relate to integrated family violence services
7. Ethics, integrity and excellent interpersonal and high-level communication skills that support the capacity to lead, inspire and develop staff, and promote and represent GenWest.
8. Demonstrated commitment to the provision of high-quality services, feminist policy and practice, and a culture of respect, collaboration and continuous learning.
9. A high level of resilience with demonstrated ability to work in a complex challenging environment
10. A current or willingness to undergo Working with Children Check, and National Police Check
