JOB DESCRIPTION

Advantage Psychology is a private psychology practice based in Western Sydney, with offices in St Marys and Rouse Hill.  We are seeking to employ a 5+1 graduate to work part-time (3-4 days per week) with our team of registered and clinical psychologists. There will be opportunities to increase to fulltime based on how well you are building on your competencies. 

This is a paid internship position with the opportunity to obtain ongoing employment upon completion of AHPRA registration.  The role will be based between our St Marys and Rouse Hill offices. 

Weekly supervision (valued at over $10 000 per annum & $2 000 CPD funding provided).  

The duties will include the following:

  • Individual therapy of adult clients
  • Co-facilitating therapy sessions with registered psychologists, including child clients
  • Co-ordinating and facilitating group programs
  • Cognitive testing and report writing using the WAIS, WISC and WIAT and the ABAS
  • School observations for child clients
  • Scoring questionnaires
  • Client and referrer follow up
  • Researching resources and other services for clients
  • Developing and updating resources within the practice
  • Administrative support

Essential Criteria:

  • Completion or near completion of 5th year psychology Master’s qualification
  • Eligible to register as a Provisional Psychologist with AHPRA
  • Eligible for Professional indemnity insurance
  • Current Police check and Working with Children Check
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong computer literacy using Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Willing and enthusiastic learner
  • Reliable
  • Driver’s licence and car
