ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

This rewarding opportunity will see you join the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba (SVPHT) as a Graduate Social Worker in our Allied Health department.

This role is ideally suitable to new graduate social workers or early career social workers seeking opportunities to continue acute hospital experience. Undergraduate hospital experience would be beneficial.

You will bring your passion to the role where you will work with a great team to provide quality patient care.

This role is a permanent part-time, (up to 45 hours per fortnight), commencing January 2024 and will be pivotal in ensuring quality outcomes for our patients in a friendly and caring atmosphere.

ABOUT YOU:

As an outstanding Social Worker, you will be responsible for delivering quality health care.

Your skills will include:

  • Current member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or be eligible for membership as a Social Worker prior to commencement in January 2024
  • Ability to apply social work clinical knowledge and skills, experience and clinical reasoning in the acute care setting, including formulation of psychosocial assessments, care planning, brief intervention approaches and the development of a responsive and high quality services in achieving optimal physical, emotional, social health and wellbeing for consumers, families and their care providers.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional social work development.
  • High level communication and negotiation skills including written (psychosocial assessment), verbal, and computer literacy
  • High level ability to build collaborative and effective relationships with multidisciplinary team members

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba is the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs. We are a 189-bed facility with highly experienced and skilled staff that work as a team to deliver the highest standard of healthcare to all our patients. Our services include medical, surgical, maternity, paediatric, emergency, cardiac, intensive care and rehabilitation. We are supported by comprehensive allied health services and advanced medical and diagnostic services. Pathology, radiology and pharmacy are also available on site, and our emergency department is open 24 hours, seven days a week.
