About the Program
We are opening a new activity centre located in the heart of Blacktown (Westpoint shopping centre). This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the inception of the new day activity care program. We are looking for a group facilitator to run a variety of groups.
About the Role
We are seeking a Group Facilitator; you will facilitate specialised groups that include the following:
- Cooking Groups
- Sensory Room
- Arts and Crafts
- Music Therapy
- Gaming Activities
- Relaxation and Yoga
- Garden Workshops
- Education/training Sessions
- Karaoke and Dancing
- Therapy Classes
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
You will be reporting to the Activity Centre Manager and will assist in the following:
- Assist in the running of the day-to-day operations of the activities centre
- Assist with program planning and development.
- Exceptional organisational skills and creative ideas
- Facilitate the group activities scheduled for each day.
- Termly evaluations of all centre-based activities, groups, events, and workshops.
- The Group Facilitator will assist in promoting, foster, and build community connections to increase referral pathways, improve referral systems, develop relationships with the broader disability community.
We are looking for an organised and energetic Group Facilitator who is creative, conscientious, reliable, and motivated about making a difference. As a Group Facilitator, you will provide a safe and engaged environment.
Successful Applicants will need to have the following: –
- clear understanding of the complex needs, and challenges behaviours of our Participants
- Sound skills on Microsoft 365
- experience with using NDIS interface systems, such as my place portal, Pace
- cultural competence and experience working alongside Culturally and Linguistically Diverse people and First Nations families
- current NSW or national Driver’s License and Working With Children’s Check
- NDIS Worker Clearance Check Number
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current drivers Licence
