  • Part time position (3 days per week) based at our Centre for Women’s and Children’s Health in Campbelltown  
  • $41.96ph – $45.14ph + 11% Super + 15,900pa Salary Packaging

The Centre for Women’s, Children & Family Health provides a holistic service to women who have experienced trauma including Domestic & Family Violence, childhood trauma & sexual assault. 

About the role 

We’re seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our team in our Centre for Women’s, Children & Family Health as a Group Facilitator! Working holistically, alongside a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll support women to overcome the effects of trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, grief, loss and other women’s health issues. 

We use an integrated, wrap-around service model, and take a trauma-informed, DV informed, strengths-based approach.    

Duties 

  • Undertake an initial group assessment; facilitate high quality therapeutic group work including psychoeducation and wellbeing groups, counselling, psychotherapy and co-design ongoing group programs 
  • Empower clients through provision of information supporting them to make informed choices 
  • Coordinate with other service providers to plan and promote group work in the local area, creating partnerships and networks to improve outcomes for clients 
  • Support the delivery of health promotion and community education workshops to raise awareness of issues that may be impacting clients of the service, address the effects of trauma and reduce social isolation

Skills and Experience 

We want you to be successful in your new role! This means you’ll have a Tertiary degree in Psychology, Social Work or relevant field and:

  • At least 3 years experience facilitating groups ideally working with women who have experienced trauma. 
  • Experience working with women and children affected by Domestic Family violence, trauma, sexual assault, including historical child sexual assault, mental health or other forms of adversity. 
  • Experience in developing & facilitating evidence informed therapeutic groups and health and wellbeing workshops. 
  • Experience undertaking psychosocial assessments to promote group participants safety and reduce risks of triggers. 
  • A clear understanding of child protection issues and mandatory reporting responsibilities
