About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate group program facilitator to join a team of dedicated educators in primary prevention of domestic and family violence and promotion of good mental health in CatholicCare’s Healthy Young Men and Healthy Young Women seven-week program delivered in local schools.
The successful applicant will co-facilitate Respectful Relationship education and Mental Health education to school students ranging from the age of 13 to 18 years old with the aim of teaching mental health strategies, active bystander tools and challenging gender stereotypes. The successful applicant will be engaged for 7 weeks of each school term.
This is a casual 6-month fixed term contract until 30th June 2024 with the potential of being extended. The position based in Central Coast, NSW.
Working hours will be between 2 to 3 days per week between 4 – 6 hours a day during school hours. SCHADS Award Level 4.
Duties
- Provide high quality group facilitation support to the Respectful Relationship education program.
- Appropriate and accurate record keeping in accordance with the principles of confidentiality.
- Promoting collaborative teamwork with Co-facilitator.
- Monitoring and evaluating feedback and supporting the implementation of improved practice.
- Apply evidence-based practice and draw on theoretical frameworks appropriate to the needs of the children and young people, utilising the Our Watch Primary Prevention Framework.
Skills & experience
- Minimum Diploma in Community Services or equivalent.
- Desirable experience in facilitating group programs.
- Sound understanding of child protection and madatory
- Able to creatively engage with young people
- Able to work as part of a team
- National Criminal History Check
- Working with Children’s Check
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence
