38 hour week – Gumaguy Worker positions working with Mob
Ngunya Jarjum is currently looking to further expand our Gumaguy (meaning ‘family’) Programs team. This team is working to support families identified as at risk using a strengths-based, trauma informed practice model.
You will be supported to undertake a Cert IV or Diploma in Community Services or Child, Youth and Family Intervention aiming for completion within 24 months of commencement.
As part of the Gumaguy team, your focus will be providing support to families to achieve quality outcomes for the children living at home with their parents.
The key objectives of the role include to:
- Support the family to build and identify strengths, advocate and link families to appropriate services.
- Engage with and work alongside of families toward change, addressing safety and risk concerns effecting their children.
- Provide on-call support to vulnerable families as required, intensive and regular in-home visiting services.
- Work closely with community networks and maintain positive interagency relationships.
Experience in family work, child protection, early childhood development, youth work is preferred.

- Experience working with families to build and identify strengths, advocate and link families to appropriate services.
- Willing to obtain a Cert IV or Diploma in Community Services/Child, Youth and Family Intervention within 2 years of commencement.
- Ability to manage and prioritise tasks in a high-volume work environment to meet a number of competing deadlines.
- High level of computer literacy; sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Current NSW driver’s licence
Appointment to this position will be subject to a National Criminal History Record Check and a NSW Working with Children – Employee clearance.
Two reference checks will be required including one recent supervisor.

Classification – Social and community services employee level 4 – pay point 1, Annual salary $82,045.60 Plus superannuation at 11% of ordinary time earnings (OTE).
