Head of College

UNE Residential System

 

  • Continuing, full-time
  • $ 129,602 per annum (HEO10)
  • Plus 17% employer superannuation
  • Salary packaging options are available
  • 5 weeks annual leave plus Christmas week shutdown, per annum
  • Relocation assistance provided
  • Applicants must have permanent full-time work rights (UNE will not provide sponsorship for this position)

About the role

The Head of College is responsible for the provision of a safe, academically oriented, and supportive educational and social environment within the College. The Head of College works collaboratively with the other Heads of College and the Wellness Centre’s Student Life team for the provision of leadership opportunities, student support and academic programs in the College.

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • The capacity to think and plan strategically, especially in relation to student groups, and have excellent problem-solving, analytical and diagnostic skills. 
  • High level initiative as well as program management skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong ability in consultation and negotiation.
  • The ability to interpret complex policies relating to resident safety and welfare.
  • An empathy with young people

 

About the Business Unit

The UNE Residential System offers a unique regional collegiate living environment, comprising of five UNE-owned and operated Colleges with a range of living arrangements for students: Austin Page College, Duval College, Mary White College, Robb College, and Wright College & Village. The UNE Residential System can accommodate up to 1500 students and has a vibrant community with a strong support structure, providing a high-quality residential experience with both catered and self-catered offerings. At the heart of its college communities is the sense of belonging, inclusiveness, and social, cultural and sporting opportunities, together with a strong focus on safety and wellbeing.
