HEAD OF YEAR
Status: Full-time ongoing
Commencing: 1 January 2024
The Head of Year is responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of the Pastoral Care program that meets the needs of the students of the particular year level. In so doing the Head of Year will work collaboratively with the Pastoral Care teachers within the relevant Year level portfolio. They will be required to be an experienced teacher and demonstrate the ability to inspire teachers and students. Embracing contemporary pedagogies, they will be innovative in their approach and further enhance the College’s dynamic and authentic learning environment.
The Head of Year, although accountable to the Principal, will work in close collaboration with the Deputy Principals (Year 7,9,11 and 8,10,12) who have responsibility for the total overview of pastoral care coordination within the College. They also form part of the Pastoral Leaders team at the College, responsible for the whole school pastoral vision.
As with all staff, and particularly those in leadership positions, it is essential that the Head of Year strives to witness Gospel values to the whole school community. It is important that the Head of Year, as in all leadership positions in Catholic schools, continues to develop both spiritually and professionally.
