headspace Connect team

headspace Connect provides telehealth counselling to young people as part of a multidisciplinary mental health team, following a referral from select headspace centre partners across regional & rural NSW & QLD.

About the role

  • headspace Connect was developed under the Wait Time Reduction program to provide free online telephone/video support and counselling services to young people aged 16 – 25, as an alternative to young people waiting on the centre waitlist
  • It is part of the Digital Mental Health Programs (DMHP) suite of services offered through headspace national
  • The headspace Connect Clinician provides brief evidence-based intervention for up to 10 weeks for young people referred from our partnering headspace centres and offers an alternative service for young people seeking mental health care
  • headspace connect operates in line with the opening times of national headspace centres, with working hours between 9-5pm or 11:30am – 7:30pm.

Who we’re looking for

headspace is seeking someone with

  • Our ideal candidate has an approved tertiary qualification in an allied health discipline, including social work, psychology, mental health nursing, and occupational therapy, or a master’s in counselling. Those with a Masters in Counselling need to have eligibility for full professional registration at a minimum of Level 3 within the Australian Counselling Association scope of practice guidelines
  • Demonstrated clinical skill in best practice mental health assessment
  • A sound knowledge of the common mental health issues faced by young people and skilled in assessments, planned therapeutic interventions and safety planning

  • Salary range of $68,000-$87,000 pro rata, dependant on years of experience and qualifications plus 10.5% superannuation
  • Hybrid work environment where you can work from home and in the Melbourne CBD office to support your work/life balance
