HOPE has been a community service in Western Australia for over a century, providing much needed support to people affected by alcohol and other drugs, mental ill-health, youth justice issues and socioeconomic disadvantage. Hope is the lead agency of the headspace service.
headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation supporting young people aged 12-25 years with their mental & general health care needs. headspace provides young people with the opportunity to seek help early. headspace brings together local health services under the one roof making it easier for young people and their families to find the information they need.
About the Role:
As the Manager, you will be responsibility for the overall Clinical Governance of headspace Esperance. You will lead, oversee, and develop all operations and support the expansion of Esperance headspace service from a satellite service into a full service.
In this role, you will work closely and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to ensure all activities are in accordance with the headspace grant agreement, and direction provided by the lead agency, WAPHA, headspace National Office, consortium partners, the Youth Reference Group, and the Family and Friends Reference Group. There will be a focus on building and nurturing relationships at a personal level, organisational and community level to identify needs and achieve positive outcomes for young people, their families, and significant others. You will ensure a supportive team environment is cultivated and manager staff accordingly.
Requirements of the role:
You will have a strong work ethic, as well as reflect and improve on own practice. Having a person-centred, strength-based perspective and empowerment approach will see you do well in this role. The Manager must show commitment to working in culturally secure and competent ways. It is essential to hold a Tertiary qualification in behavioural/social sciences, youth work, health/mental health nursing or approved equivalent. This ensures you have an in depth understanding of mental health challenges and experiences of young people in Australia. You will have demonstrated experience in managing all aspects of staff and team performance, as well as a proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships internal and external stakeholders.
