  • This role will cover the Geelong region, spanning across locations such as Geelong, East-Geelong and Corio, we need you to be flexible with travelling in this region.

Are you an inspirational experienced Counsellor with a focus on ensuring best practice? genU are looking for a talented Health and Wellbeing Consultant to join our Health & Wellbeing team. As part of a national network of mental health professionals, you will be providing health & wellbeing support to job seekers accessing Work Force Australia (WFA) and Disability Employment Services (DES).

Some of your key responsibilities:

  • Providing counselling and mental health support to individuals on a one-to-one basis and in groups to support those experiencing health and or wellbeing concerns;
  • Conducting biopsychosocial assessments and use short term evidence based and best practice interventions to assist them to better manage their health and wellbeing;
  • Create an individualised support plan for each client that focuses on return to work and assist as many clients into lasting employment as possible;
  • Refer clients to relevant external health or specialist services as required;
  • Deliver training to operational staff relevant to health and wellbeing topics;
  • Ensure service delivery meets the quality standards outlined in our clinical governance framework.

The successful candidate will be fully registered as a health professional, with one of the following regulatory bodies

  • Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  • A counsellor registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) at Level 2 or above, or the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) at Provisional or Clinical level.
  • This role may be suitable for Rehabilitation Counsellor and Mental Health/Social Workers (Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors – AsoRC)
  • Accredited Mental health /Social Workers needed to be registered by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)

You will be required to undertake pre-employment screening, including a NDIS Worker Screening Check, NDIS Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety and You’ orientation module and where required a Working With Children Check.
