The role
We’re looking for a Health Support Specialist to join our team. As a Health Support Specialist, you will assess our participants referred to Campbell Page to determine their vocational goals, health barriers and necessary interventions. You will provide a combination of direct support to participants through one-to-one counselling and make referrals to internal and external service providers based on the assessed needs while increasing the knowledge and capacity regarding mental health within the wider organisation.
You’ll bring a customer focus, positive and resilient nature, and ability to resolve conflicts and achieve targets on regular basis.
This will enable Campbell Page to deliver on its purpose of transforming people’s lives by securing long-term employment for the most disadvantaged.
In this role, you will:
- Provide high quality therapeutic intervention for participants including individual counselling
- Conduct assessment of suitability for programs of support, hours required and vocational pathways
- Review participant progress against their Vocational Assessment Reports
- Implement plans to address participants non-vocational barriers
- Build a network of community organisations to support caseload
- Provide an exceptional customer experience to all stakeholders internal and external
- Contractual understanding and adherence
About You – What do you need to thrive and succeed within this role?
- Essential: Degree qualifications and professional registration in one of Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Occupational Therapy, or other an Allied Health discipline with experience in Mental Health
- Knowledge of accessing community resources, particularly in the areas of health, drugs, and alcohol, legal, income support, employment, and recreation
- The ability to approach problem solving with creativity, resourcefulness, and wisdom
- Comfortable working independently and offering peer support to colleagues
- Effective written, computer literacy and verbal communication skills
- Emotional resilience, patience, and flexibility to get the job done
