High School Student Wellbeing Coordinator

 

Employment Type: Permanent (FTE Negotiable)

Commencement: January 2024

Remuneration in line with the following as applicable:

Independent Schools NSW (Teachers) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021 or

Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021

 

Position Overview

Shearwater School is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Student Wellbeing Coordinator to lead and promote student well-being, fostering a safe and supportive environment for all High School students. 

This role will have the primary responsibility for the individual case work management within the school, in addition to implementing and evaluating the student development and wellbeing programs as they impact on the educational and personal development of individuals and groups of students. The successful incumbent will also work closely across the High School with Class Guardians and individual Teachers to promote and support student welfare as required.

Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the developmental stages according to Steiner’s indicators and the educational needs of High School students. This includes an appreciation of the particular learning styles, social, and emotional needs. Trauma-informed training is highly desirable, as are candidates with tertiary education in education and/or social work.

All appointments will be subject to a satisfactory Working with Children Check, required under the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012.
