This leading NFP is doing such an amazing job supporting children and young people in OOHC they are growing and expanding their services in the Western Sydney area and are seeking a dynamic and energetic House Manager for their Herbasham House. You will be leading a fun and committed team of youth workers and offering your understanding and therapeutic expertise to young people from trauma backgrounds, living at the house, which is their home.
Your role will be to lead and manage the day to day running of the house, supervision and guidance of the children/young people and youth workers. This is an autonomous management position where you will have the ability to make decisions and implement ideas for the benefit of your team and the young people living under your guidance and care. Although you will be independently responsible, you will have access to the senior management as you need it. You and your team will also have access to the national therapeutic and behavioural, clinical team, to help you as a team to find better ways to support and mentor the young people living at the house. As a manager you will be invited to attend leadership training and professional development as well as attend industry conferences.
The Role:
* Providing support, supervision, and guidance to the team of Therapeutic Youth Workers
* Managing and maintaining rosters and appropriate staffing levels
* Day to day management of the services; creating a home like environment for the Children & Young People living there (maximum of 4 children/young people).
* Coordinating and monitoring the implementation of case plan and leaving care plans for the Children and Young People in consultation with Case Managers
* Coordinating the completion of life story work by the Therapeutic Youth Workers in consultation with Case Managers
* Manage complaints and responding immediately to allegations or concerns raised in consultation with Service Specialist (Senior Manager)
* The Therapeutic Support Manager is required to complete a minimum of two shifts per week (hours can be negotiated).
What you need:
* Diploma or Degree qualification in relevant field
* Experience in working with Children & Young People in OOHC with complex needs due to trauma-based backgrounds and/or with a disability
* Strong experience in supporting and guiding Youth Workers working with young people, who can often have intense behaviours
* Knowledge and experience in working with relevant legislation, OOHC standards, policies & procedures.
* Able to apply culturally appropriate practices with Aboriginal and CALD communities.
* High level of communication of all forms, strong administration skills and computer literacy
* Enjoys working collaboratively in partnership with external services providers, and also as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team
* Current drivers’ license
* Working with Children Check
