JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking an Inclusion Professional to join the Youth and Community Services Malaga team.

Your role as an Inclusion Professional, will support mainstream Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) services to improve their capacity and capability to provide quality inclusive practices, address participation barriers and include children with additional needs alongside their typically developing peers.  You will provide parents and carers of children with additional needs with access to appropriate ECEC services that assist those parents to participate in the workforce.

This role will be offered as a 12-month fixed term full-time contract working 76 hours per fortnight.

Key skills & Experience include:

  • Minimum 3 years working in the Education and Care Sector.
  • Experience in working with children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal and professional written standards.
  • Knowledge of Inclusion principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and practice effective time management.
  • Ability to prioritise and achieve outcomes.
  • Demonstrated skill in facilitating reflective practice and utilising strengths-based approaches with others.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of National Quality Framework and Standards, the Early Years Learning Framework, Framework for School Age Care.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law and the Education and Care Services National Amendment Regulations 2023.
  • Competence in computing skills.

Selection Criteria:

  • Minimum Diploma in Children Services or equivalent
  • Unrestricted drivers’ licence
  • Satisfactory Police clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)
  • Current working with children check card.
