Role Overview:

  • You will advise patients, support persons, family, carers and other support persons of their rights and responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 2016, playing a vital role in liaising between clinical teams, patients and support persons.  
  • Assist patients and their support persons to communicate to health practitioners on matters concerning the patient’s views, wishes and preferences about treatment and care.
  • Maintain patient file notes and manage all information in accordance with legislation, standards, policies and procedures

Requirements:

To be successful, you will have relevant knowledge, experience, understanding and passion for the health and welfare issues affecting people with mental health issues under care.

  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2016
  • Possess experience consulting with a range of mental health stakeholders particularly within patient rights.
  • Knowledge of the local health and support services sector within the Brisbane region
  • Demonstrated ability to connect and create networks
  • Work autonomously with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Personal car is an essential requirement for this role
  • Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a Blue Card
  • Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
