The Bravehearts Information and Support line is the frontline service for our community. As our Information and Support Line officer, you will be the first point of contact to help identify and address the caller’s needs and triage all referrals. You will provide accurate information to prospective clients about our services and those services outside of Bravehearts. You will record and maintain accurate client records, and you will proactively monitor our wait lists.
This is a 12 month fixed term, part time 3 day per week role (Monday and Wednesday plus one other negotiable day), based in our Arundel office). The position is paid in accordance with the SCHADS Award, Level 2, Pay point 1.
What you will bring to the role:
- Experience in, or the ability to effectively communicate therapeutically with callers some of whom may present in a heightened emotional state.
- You will be flexible and adaptable, and able to plan and manage your time effectively (particularly when your day may not go to plan)
- Demonstrated experience working in a telephone counselling setting and/or experience in handling phone queries
- A sound understanding of the effects of child sexual assault or trauma
