Applications are now open for an innovative and experienced Intake and Assessment Officer, for the Strathpine headspace. We’ll be offering a contract until April 2023 but there’s a possibility of extension.
This is a key role in the team as you’ll be the first contact point for clients accessing our centre. You’ll build professional and positive rapport with a wide range of clients, significant others and external mental health providers and community organisations. You will:
- Screen and provide intake, assessment and referral for clients.
- Conduct risk assessments, including suicide and violence risks, and develop action plans that mitigate these risks
- Facilitate and monitor the integration and coordination of work with clients, including active participation on case review meetings
- Deliver brief therapeutic interventions, counselling services, and treatment planning
- Be a key focal point developing and maintain relationships with organisations and services within the community.

Does this sound like you?
- Tertiary level qualifications in health, behavioural/social sciences, community services, or a related discipline and/or extensive experience in the mental health sector
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment, coordinating client change plans
- Experience in the mental health sector
- Knowledge and understanding of mental health, including related evidence-based interventions and best practice
- Open, self-reflective, curious, team orientated person
