Intake and Recovery Clinician – Alcohol and Other Drugs Ballarat Community Health

Full Time 1.0 EFT, Fixed Term Position until 30th June 2024

The Ballarat Community Health (BCH) Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) team provides a suite of therapeutic treatment services and programs. The AOD team values team work and is looking for an experienced and qualified person to work flexibly within the team to support and provide capacity within existing treatment services and programs.

The Opportunity

This role will be responsible for coordinating treatment planning in accordance with client led recovery goals and supporting client’s access to other relevant support services. You will predominantly perform intake responsibilities within the broader team but will also provide interventions for individuals and/or families experiencing issues relating to alcohol and other drugs within the Care and Recovery Coordination guidelines. 

There will be a range of opportunities to apply your skills including intake, assessment, client and family interventions and support, case management, report writing and health promotion activities.

You will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification such as Social Work, Community Services, Counselling, Psychology or other related discipline 
  • Proven skills in the application of intake, assessment, case coordination, and the development of individual treatment plans (including discharge planning skills)
  • Knowledge of current alcohol and other drug interventions
  • Skills in working collaboratively with clients to identify treatment / support needs including identifying risk
  • Understanding of and ability to work with clients with co-occurring disorders
