Centacare Family and Relationship Services (CFRS) is a non-profit community organisation that supports the strengthening of family and community relationships, particularly where there is vulnerability and disadvantage. The Role:
  
We are currently seeking a skilled Intake and Referral Practitioner to join our team based in Brisbane’s, Fortitude Valley. This is a full time role, working 38 hours per week on a fixed term 12 month contract.
  
This is an excellent opportunity and the role will suit a dedicated and knowledgeable Practitioner who will assist in the provision of, high quality intake (including crisis intake), screening and referral services within the framework of Centacare Family and Relationship Services mission, values and vision. The role will offer opportunities to support and work with diverse families with complex needs.
  
Please note, that the position holder may be required to work one evening shift each week, which would be between the hours of 12:00pm to 8:00pm weekly, with some flexibility needed in order to meet business requirements.

  
Essential requirements for the role;

  • relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioral Sciences, from a recognised tertiary institution;
  • eligibility for membership of APS, AASW, or similar recognised professional association;
  • have a current Blue Card – or be eligible to apply;
  • agree (if offered employment), that Centacare can conduct an Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check;
  • agree to sign a statutory declaration stating you have no overseas criminal offences;
  • have Australian Work Rights – Australian citizenship/Visa documentary evidence is to be provided at interview (please contact us for detail if needed);
  • proof of COVID-19 Vaccination.


Skills and Experience:
  

  • demonstrated articulation of a well-developed practice framework in the provision of intake and screening services with diverse target groups (children, adults, families, couples);
  • knowledge and experience of working with matters involving domestic and family violence, family law, court orders, child protection, suicidality and assessing for risk along with appropriate safety planning, contracting, referrals and interventions;
  • well-developed knowledge and skills to work proficiently and effectively within a client information database system and capacity to apply diverse contractual service parameters and linking clients to relevant service activities and funding criteria;
  • knowledge of Domestic Violence Legislation, Child Safety Legislation and the Family Law Act;
  • well-developed written work including report writing, case notes, data collection, data entry and computer literacy skills.

Remuneration:

Remuneration for this position is paid in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award, with the base salary commencing at Level 5.1.
