Applications are now open for a position on the founding team at Head to Health Kingaroy as a Integrated Mental Health Officer. You’ll be joining a fresh, newly formed team, in a professional and positive environment.??

 

As our Integrated Mental Health Officer you will collaboratively deliver psychosocial change interventions using a motivational interviewing framework. This includes education, skills development, self- reflection, making values consistent decisions, and increasing community and social connection. 

 

You will manage the overall implementation of the client’s change plan and ensure that there is timely and effective coordination between internal and external stakeholders supporting the client including the persons family or significant others.  Reporting to the Clinical Lead, your role will be instrumental in redefining mental health care in the South Burnett community.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Collaborate on tailored change plans to address mental health and psychosocial needs, with primary plan management responsibility.
  • Deliver client-centered care, incorporating family/significant others as needed.
  • Provide personalized psychosocial support and interventions, including skill-building, self-care strategies, and fostering social connections.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and devise practical risk management strategies.
  • Maintain precise, up-to-date client records in line with data collection standards.
  • Participate in ongoing clinical quality improvement initiatives to enhance service provision and outcomes.
  • Attend case reviews, engage in individual supervision, peer reflection, and team meetings.

 

Does this sound like you?

  • Tertiary qualifications in health, behavioural/social sciences, community services, or related field, or extensive mental health sector experience.
  • Registration with appropriate professional body (e.g., AHPRA or AASW).
  • Proven track record in support coordination, psychosocial support, and change plan management in mental health.
  • Strong proficiency in risk assessment, as well as developing and implementing risk management plans.
  • Extensive local support service knowledge and networking capabilities.
  • In-depth understanding of mental health system, government policies, legislation, and professional standards.

  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to hold one
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening (or Yellow Card) or ability to hold one
