About the role
Working in our Youth and Homelessness team this position focuses on an approach to case management that is characterised by a high level of contact, relational work and emphasis on advocacy and participation by families in decision-making. The primary aim is to prevent families coming into the child protection system by providing intensive in-home services and assisting with practical care needs, capacity building, reducing risks and enhancing family functioning.
About you
You’ll have the ability to balance empathy with empowerment and utilise your relationship building skills to provide a collaborative approach in providing a culturally safe support. With resilience and exceptional organisation skills you’ll also have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in human services
- Demonstrated experience in working with families and young people.
- Demonstrated ability to create effective working relationships and culturally responsive approaches.
- Skills in decision-making in complex family systems.
- Experience in developing and delivering case plans.
- An understanding of children’s development needs, including development issues, trauma and impacts of grief and loss.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to relate to children and young adults.
- Excellent assessment, analytical and planning skills.
- COVID and Influenza vaccinations are preferred but not required
- National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
