Cranbrook School is seeking an outstanding psychologist to join our dynamic Junior School team. Commencing Term 1, 2023, this position will be based at our Junior School campus in Rose Bay.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Junior School Psychologist leads the psychological care of Junior School students and works closely with the Junior School Leadership Team. The role is responsible for facilitating and monitoring emotional, behavioural, social and educational counselling for Junior School students and their families.

ABOUT YOU
A progressive, enthusiastic and dedicated psychologist, you have a strong understanding of child and early adolescent development and the demonstrated ability to counsel students in support of their social and emotional wellbeing.
You are an excellent communicator, creative, and are able to work well with students, parents and other staff. You are committed to continual professional development and reflection, and have a genuine interest in the growth of young people.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Professional Psychologist Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Eligibility for registration with Australian Psychological Society (APS) and other relevant professional bodies
- Master of Psychology or a Master of Teaching (School Counselling) will be highly regarded. Preference given to those with Postgraduate qualifications in Psychology.
- A minimum of four years’ counselling experience in a primary school context
- Experience working with the IB Primary Years Programme is highly desirable
- Highly organised, detail-focused, resourceful and inclusive
- Able to communicate and collaborate with people at all levels, with diverse backgrounds and a wide range of age groups
- Demonstrated expertise in using evidence-based practices to effectively inform counselling practice
- Able to take ownership of tasks, demonstrate initiative and produce work of a consistently high standard
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications
- A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
