Kinship Practitioner Foundations Care

JOB DESCRIPTION

About the role: 

We have an amazing brand new opportunity for someone to join our organisation.  The Kinship Practitioner will be responsible is responsible for ensuring the achievement of agreed and planned individual permanency outcomes for children and young people (CYP) currently in out-of-home care (OOHC) and coming into OOHC. 

This will involve undertaking comprehensive research, formulate hypotheses and transitions based on assessment information, develop evidence-based and integrated support plans, and work hip-to-hip with the stakeholder team to implement those plans through a combination of facilitating effective support and education whilst ensuring the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of the CYP. 

This is a full-time, position and currently available on a 12 month fixed term contract and will need to be located in the Gladstone region. However, please note that this role involves travel interstate, and possibility internationally, to source appropriate kinship options. Therefore will require the position holder hold a valid driver licence and to be flexible with their availability in order to do this. 

About you: 

  • You will hold a Minimum qualification required – Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Community Development, Psychology or similar or; Diploma qualification with degree-qualified level of experience (4+ years of Child Protection experience) 
  • Proven ability in networking and developing positive relationships with relevant stakeholders and community groups. 
  • Excellent case management and report writing skills  
  • Have the ability to work autonomously to achieve success as part of a wider supportive team 
  • Articulate and skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise, consult and build rapport with ease 
  • Be highly motivated and thrives when working independently to achieve KPIs and contribute towards organisational/team goals 
  • A superior attention to detail for accuracy and organisational capability together with critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.

  • Department Screening Check
