KYDS Senior Mental Health Clinician – Counsellor (Lvl 3) | Family Therapist | Mental Health Social Worker | Psychologist
KYDS Youth Development Services is a community-based organisation committed to the prevention and early intervention of young people’s mental health difficulties through the promotion of good psychological and emotional health. Our Clinicians work with young people experiencing a range of difficulties from mild levels of distress impacting on overall functioning to more complex challenges.
With a focussed commitment to providing a holistic approach to mental health support, KYDS provides accessible counselling and mental health support to children, young people and their families across Northern Sydney and the Northern Beaches. In addition, KYDS works alongside the professional networks supporting families to bring about the best possible outcomes for the children and young people we are supporting.
KYDS is looking to appoint a Senior Clinician in a full-time position.
Reporting to the Clinical Lead, this essential role is responsible for:
- The delivery of counselling and mental health interventions to children, young people and families.
- Supporting the Clinical Lead in managing the clinical team.
Counselling and mental health interventions include the provision of:
- Individual therapy to children/young people
- Parenting support, including group and structured parenting interventions
- Family-based interventions
- Therapeutic group programs
- Workshops and Programs in schools and community settings
Successful candidates will:
- Have at least 4 years counselling experience – preferably working with children, young people and/or families
- Have solid self-management skills with ability to work autonomously yet collaboratively
- Be team players who want to work in a help seeking and help offering environment
- Enjoy working creatively and innovatively to improve mental health outcomes for our clients
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Have a high level of computer literacy and proficient in Microsoft Office applications
