Lived Experience Peer Worker Skylight Mental Health

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are recruiting a Lived Experience Peer Worker to work within the Wellness Connect NPSP program. The Lived Experience Peer Worker will work closely with participants to promote recovery, inspire hope and facilitate a process wherein participants can work toward their goals.

The program provides short term 1:1 support. The Lived Experience Peer Worker may support participants to:

• Identify their strengths

• Build resilience

• Achieve goals

• Link in with people to help improve their wellbeing

• Connect with family or with community

• Explore accessing the NDIS or DSP

• Enjoy a full and vibrant quality of life

Requirements for Success

• Must have or be working toward:

o Certificate IV in Mental Health; and/or

o Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work; and/ or

o an equivalent qualification (as agreed to by Adelaide PHN).

• Sound knowledge and awareness of mental health challenges

• Capacity to work both autonomously and within teams

• Experience with person centred and recovery-oriented frameworks

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft programs and relevant software

• DHS Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Check

• Current SA Drivers Licence and willingness to use own registered, insured vehicle

• Understanding of NDIS application process desirable

This role is classified at SACS Level 4, 0.6 fte and a Maximum Term Contract until June 2024, with possibility of extension. The role will be predominantly based at Skylight Wayville, servicing multiple areas of the South Australian metropolitan region.
