About the role

 

Your role will include providing high quality, trauma informed, time framed, child and family domestic violence therapy to support recovery and healing from the impacts of domestic and family violence.

This is a Max Term Part Time position ending in June 2024 with the possibility of extending in line with funding. 3 Days per week – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.

 

Duties

  • Promote a ‘risk-aware’ culture where staff proactively identify, report and address all forms of risk to clients, staff and CatholicCare.
  • Ensure compliance with incident management, reporting and escalation requirements and that organisational obligations under mandatory reporting, child protection, safeguarding and WHS are met.
  • Provide direct counselling service to meet performance standards. These services include but not limited to – intake, suitability screening, and appropriate referrals to meet our contract requirements and guidelines.
  • Deliver group work programs to men, women, children and adolescents as required, taking an active role in contributing to the development and continuous improvement of programs.
  • Actively engage with stakeholders, developing and growing collaborative partnerships to build capacity towards safety of women and children and accountability of men who have used violence and coercive control.

 

Essential Criteria

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Counselling, Social Work, Welfare, Psychology, or professionally related disciplines with relevant registrations with peak bodies.
  • Post graduate study in counselling or relevant disciplines such as attachment theory, play therapy for child developmental trauma, family systems theory, men’s behaviour change, domestic violence training and parenting support and education following child trauma.
  • Experience in group work facilitation with ability to plan, write, deliver and evaluate group programs.
  • National Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children’s Check
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence and access to an insured vehicle
