Men & Co. The Role – Men & Co. Services male-identifying Facilitator 

The primary role of the Men’s Change Behaviour Program Facilitator at The Centre for Women & Co. and Men & Co. Services is to co-Facilitate and deliver a Men’s Change Behaviour Program.  

The Men’s Program Facilitator will oversee aspects of the delivery including the assessment and intake of program participants and working alongside the male/female facilitator. The role is reliant on positive and robust external stakeholder’s relationships and also requires accurate and safe data collection for reporting purposes.    

The Men’s Program Facilitator will have knowledge and experience of risk assessment frameworks and have the confidence to on-refer to external services where appropriate or to refer into The Centre for Women & Co.’s internal programs including time sensitive referrals into the DFV Assessment and Response team as well as the counselling and group programs.   

You will work collaboratively with team member members and other agencies and organisations to develop appropriate and innovative service response within the Redlands Community.

About You: 

You will have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to communicate effectively with a broad range of people and be proficient in preparation and management of case notes.  

You will have an extensive understanding of and experience in group work, crisis support, case management within the domestic and family violence women’s sector, with a demonstrated ability to work with various therapeutic frameworks.  

Your demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment, together with a willingness and commitment to provide optimum service delivery will enable you to work collaboratively and effectively with team members, clients, and other organisations within the Logan community.

Selection Criteria: 

  1. Demonstrated experience in working with persons using or experiencing violence, and experience in risk assessment and management practices.    
  2. Demonstrated experience, or ability to undertake, facilitation of perpetrator intervention group programs with mandated and non-mandated male offenders.   
  3. Knowledge and experience of the complex issues affecting women and children who have experienced domestic and family violence.   
  4. Strong record keeping and administrative skills. 
  5. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong networks and partnerships within the broader service sector.   
  6. Demonstrated knowledge or the ability to acquire an understanding of system protocols, procedures and legislation associated with and specific to domestic violence, including Domestic and Family Violence Act 2012 specifically Part5A, Family Law Provisions, Criminal Code, and Bail Act.  Corrective Services, Queensland Police Service, Child Safety and the Courts.
