About the role       

Your role as a Men’s Family Violence practitioner is to support men who are using violence to make and maintain positive changes including via:

  • Case Management – working one-to-one with men to assess and mitigate against barriers to change such as homelessness, mental health, drug and alcohol abuse, etc.
  • Counselling – including challenging violence supporting narratives and supporting strategies towards positive change
  • Intake Assessment – identifying men’s needs, risks and barriers towards developing and implementing an appropriate support plan incorporating counselling and/or case management and/or attendance at our Men’s Behaviour Change Program
  • Opportunities to engage with men at different stages of intervention including responding to initial enquires and potentially co-facilitating a Men’s Behaviour Change Program

We currently have multiple roles available so open to applicants seeking both part-time or full-time positions.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A high performing specialist family violence practitioner with extensive experience working with highly sensitive and complex family violence cases
  • Experienced in supporting and developing multi-disciplinary practitioners to work effectively with victim survivors including children, and perpetrators?
  • Passionate about service reform, integrated service delivery and improving outcomes for women, children, and families?
  • A team player, with strong experience managing stakeholder relationships and working in partnership?

 Pivotal to your success in this rewarding and challenging role, the ideal candidates will possess demonstrable capability in the following areas:

  •  knowledge of theory into practice, and the ability to provide advice, coaching and mentoring
  • Ability to work within an Integrated Practice Framework.
  • Leadership capability when working in partnership with community service organisations and Family Safety Victoria.
  • Managing complex casework.
