Our program involves parents and their children regularly attending a center-based program for up to 18 months. Participants engage in a variety of activities designed to enhance their wellbeing, improve parenting skills, and foster positive family relationships.
About the Role: This is an exciting time for the Newpin service, and we are seeking two passionate candidates to fulfill the role of Men’s Family Worker within our program. As a Men’s Family Worker, you will support Newpin team members and the entire service in providing holistic, strengths-based, and trauma-informed services that facilitate family reunification.
Locations: Smithfield and Port Adelaide
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitating therapeutic group sessions and interventions, with a particular focus on fathers.
- Collaborating with key leaders in the Aboriginal Community to inform practice and family support.
- Delivering parent education sessions.
- Collaborating effectively with fellow Newpin team members.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Community Services, Social Work, or equivalent.
- Professional experience in delivering therapeutic and educational group sessions.
- Experience working with babies, children, and their families, and/or Men’s business.
- Knowledge of therapeutic approaches, including strengths-based theory, family and systems theory, and attachment theory.
