Mental Health Allied Health Graduate Program 2023

The Organisation 

Mental Health Services, forming part of Mildura Base Public Hospital, offers a range of inpatient and community-based services for people with mental illness in the Northern Mallee Region.  We promote and provide a work environment that embraces professional development and supports staff to maximize growth through internal and external education including Trauma Informed Care, Mental State Examinations, Psychiatric Assessment and more.  We also offer an environment that genuinely cares about the health and wellbeing of all staff. 

 

About the Role:

The Allied Health Mental Health Graduate Program Is a collaborative program between MBPH and Sunraysia Community Health Services. The program offers new Social Worker graduates a fully supported graduate program in a positive learning environment. The program aims to support new graduates during their first year to develop their skills, knowledge, applied experience and values to become an effective member of the mental health workforce. 

New graduates will be supported by an Allied Health Mental Health Educator within an established learning structure which includes discipline specific clinical supervision and education.

Four positions are available and will commence in February 2023. These are offered on a full-time basis for a twelve-month period. The program includes rotations throughout various teams within Mental Health Services and Sunraysia Community Health Services. This program is derived from the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health system recommendations.

 

About You:

The successful applicants will be newly graduated Social Workers, passionate about developing a career in a mental health setting.

Candidates must meet the necessary key selection criteria outlined in the position description.

 

Employment Conditions

This position is classified as a SW Grade 1, Year 2 under the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement.
