We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Project Officer to work for a not for profit organisation who focus on ensuring mental health services are provided to those in need. In this role you will work closely with management to plan and commission Mental Health services. The role also focusses on programs aimed at preventing suicide.

This organisation works in collaboration with service providers, GP’s, other health services and government bodies with the aim of improving health outcomes. They run a variety of programs and provide services to ensure that the needs of people are met.

- Salary from $75-90k plus super and salary packaging
Duties:
- Assess and commission services in areas of need, including in area’s such as suicide prevention
- Coordinate Mental Health services at a regional level, to improve sector efficiency and continuing care for individuals
- Carry out regional needs assessments and develop activity plans
- Monitor and evaluate the services being provided
- Build collaborative relationships across the mental health sector with a focus on regional planning, coordination and integration
- Working with contracted providers to monitor and support activities
- Stakeholder engagement and project work
Requirements:
- A relevant degree qualification – there is flexibility with this. Degree’s such as Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or other health related area would be suitable.
- We are looking for someone with previous experience in mental health
- Experience working in Suicide Prevention programs is also highly beneficial
- Project or program management experience would also be beneficial
