About the position
We are now searching for a new senior Manager to lead our Mental Health & Wellbeing unit. As part of the Client Services Group of Marymead, the Mental Health and Wellbeing team provides a range of individual and group counselling services to children and young people. The programs within this unit include but are not limited to The Centre for Early Life Matters (ELM) which utilises the Circle of Security Framework; New Horizons and Grandparents Group . The team aims to provide efficient and effective services to clients, the Government, other agencies and families. This service will operate across the ACT and surrounding NSW areas.
With the support of the Director, the Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager will take responsibility for delivery of these programs. The role will include budget management, reporting to funding bodies, liaison with stakeholders, and management of people to ensure functions are delivered. At a program level, the position has line management responsibilities for the culture and performance of the team, ensuring that systems, policies and procedures, effective communications, training and other supports are in place for the provision of high quality and effective service in order to meet the organisations goals and objectives and service delivery standards.
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager is a permanent full-time position and will be based at our Narrabundah office. As a non-profit employer, Marymead is able to provide staff with access to generous salary packaging arrangements.
To be successful for this position you will possess:
- Degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related discipline;
- At least 5 years relevant experience and demonstrated leadership and management skills;
- Proven experience in the management of social/community services
- ACT Working with Vulnerable People Clearance or ability to obtain
- Eligibility for membership of AASW or other professional body, or registration as a psychologist is highly desirable
You will also have presentation and group facilitation experience as well as a solid understanding of clinical approaches, models and theories that underpin therapeutic interventions.
