About the role

We invite you to embark on a meaningful journey as a Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioner within our Enhanced Maternal and Child Health (EMCH) unit. Here, you’ll be a vital force in providing compassionate care to families, children, and caregivers, and making a lasting impact on their lives.
As a Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioner, you’ll play a crucial role in our multi-disciplinary team, delivering client-focused care that embraces a holistic approach. Your mission will involve empowering families to overcome challenges and maximise their potential, particularly during the critical early years of child development.
Your work will extend far beyond traditional care settings. By collaborating with Maternal & Child Health (MCH) colleagues and various services, you’ll create a flexible, family-centered support system. From conducting client assessments to offering brief counselling and targeted therapeutic interventions, your professionalism and evidence-based practices will guide families toward positive changes and informed choices.
About You
To excel in this role, you’ll need to demonstrate a proven commitment to exemplary client service and evidence-based practice. Your ability to provide targeted interventions, assist families in making informed choices, and navigate mental health concerns will set you apart. Additionally, your experience in facilitating group programs and building community capacity will be highly valued.
You will also require;
- Relevant qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nursing
- Experience working in the mental health field including either Adult Mental Health, Perinatal Mental Health, or Infant Mental Health
- A qualification in infant mental health or similar would be advantageous
- AHPRA registration (where applicable)
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- Current Working with Children’s Check.
