About the position
The Mental Health Clinician will work collaboratively within the Aboriginal Health and Primary Mental Health teams as well as partners from the Sapphire Wellness Partnership to undertake individual assessments, develop targeted rehabilitation plans and provide evidence based psychological interventions for consumers mental health needs complicated by alcohol and other drugs, and their families and carers. 

Join our dynamic, supportive, and flexible team to provide evidence informed clinical health services for communities across southern NSW. The Sapphire Health Team are a multidisciplinary team of Registered Nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers, Aboriginal Outreach Workers, and Care Coordinators, supported by a variety of Specialists and Allied Health Workers.

Based in our Bega hub this is a part-time (22.5 hours), fixed-term opportunity until 30 June 2023 with the potential for extension. Days and hours are negotiable.

What you’ll need

  • Current AHPRA registration as an Aboriginal health worker, psychologist or provisionally registered psychologist, mental health nurse or occupational therapist or accreditation with the AASW as a mental health social worker
  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking comprehensive mental health assessments and development of intervention plans in collaboration with consumers and their family and carers 
  •  Experience in the management of consumers with problems related to alcohol and other drugs
