They now have a unique opportunity for mental health clinicians to join their Suicide Intervention Program providing support to clients who are at moderate to high risk of suicide.
Key responsibilities
- Provide short term counselling and support for clients who have been assessed to be at moderate to high risk of suicide, who have attempted suicide or display self-harming behaviours.
- Develop detailed safety plans in collaboration with clients following appropriate risk assessments.
- Perform initial intake assessment/program triage function as required.
- Assist with facilitation or co-facilitation of group programs as required.
- Be able to respond to active clients who may be in crisis situations.
Key selection criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing or Counselling.
- Full registration with relevant membership body (AHPRA, AASW, ACA, PACFA).
- Demonstrated experience working with clients with mental health & psychosocial conditions including those at risk of suicide
- Highly developed knowledge & skills in assessment and counselling.
