The intention of the NSLHD MHDA is to provide recovery-oriented, trauma informed services that are guided by evidence based practices and collaboration.

The Got It! program includes a whole of school approach which provides parent and teacher training sessions to all members of the school community. It includes a targeted group intervention for identified children in Kindergarten to Year 2 who may be experiencing difficulties regarding behaviour, emotions, or social skills. Children are screened through use of SDQs which parents and teachers complete. Families are then invited to discuss their concerns further, and 6-8 families are selected to participate in a small-group program running once a week for an entire term. Children attend with one of their parents or carers. Sessions are evidence-based and focus on the attachment relationship as well as emotion regulation skills.
