headspace provides support to young people aged 12-25 experiencing mild to moderate or emerging mental health issues. The multidisciplinary team at headspace Goulburn work to improve health, social, vocational and educational outcomes for young people.
 
Grand Pacific Health is the lead agency of headspace Goulburn.  We are a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation providing locally-tailored, high quality physical and mental health services across NSW and the ACT.

About the position
 
You will work collaboratively with young people and their support systems (including as appropriate, their family or carers and other service providers) to identify their support needs, goals and to develop collaborative care plans, ensuring best outcomes are delivered in a youth friendly context. 
 
You will provide high quality psycho-social assessment and evidence-based, focused interventions, working closely with the other members of the headspace Yass teams and external service providers to maximise care outcomes for young people referred to headspace Yass.
 
Fully registered Mental Health Clinicians and New Graduates working towards their full APHRA and/or mental health accreditation you are also encouraged to apply.
As a New Graduate you will work within the scope of practice of their profession to deliver services and a higher level of supervision and support is provided in this role as you work towards gaining more experience as a Mental Health Clinician.
 
Based at headspace Goulburn we have 2 full-time (part-time will be considered), fixed-term positions until 30 June 2025.

We are looking for someone with:
 
  1. Current AHPRA registration as an Aboriginal Health Worker, Psychologist, Provisionally Registered Psychologist, Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist (accredited with the OTA as meeting the Australian Competency Standards for Occupational Therapists in mental health) or Social Worker accredited with the AASW or working towards full registration.
  2. Experience in assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders, provision of Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based focused psychological strategies. 
  3. Demonstrated understanding of key issues in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems. 
  4. Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with young people, their family, friends or carers.
