An exciting opportunity is available to join the HeadtoHealth team. HeadtoHealth is an initiative of the commonwealth government in response to the impacts of COVID 19 in Victoria. There are six hubs in Victoria coordinated through the Primary Care Network and two operating in the catchment of the WestVicPHN.
The aim of the Program is to address the mental health needs of community members referred to the service through the PHN intake and assessment services. The outcomes include improved mental health or symptom stability.
As the Mental Health Clinician you will be responsible for a range of clinical services including treatment coordination, intake, mental state examinations, risk assessments, care planning, case management, group work and discharge planning.
If you are looking to expand your skill set and work within a dynamic multi-disciplinary team and be supported and mentored by our experienced Mental Health Clinicians, this may be the role for you.
You will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Counselling, Nursing or post-graduate degree in Psychology
- Demonstrate expert clinical skills across the whole of age spectrum – expertise in child and adolescent mental health is desirable
- Ability to provide treatment to specific age – desired extra qualifications and skills in children treatment, such as Play Therapy and Tuning into Kids
- Experience in providing clinical mental health interventions and when required short term treatment
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working in an environment with a focus on clients with complex needs
