About the service:

Inverell Community Mental Health Service provides a high quality, evidence-based clinical service consisting of assessment, care co-ordination, intervention, liaison and review for adults and their family and carers referred to the service with a mental illness or disorder.

About the position:

As a Mental Health Professional within the service, you will provide efficient and effective assessment and care coordination services for people experiencing mental health concerns and their families and carers.

Support and encouragement to extend your skills via education and professional development is highly valued within the team.

About You:

The successful candidate will be passionate about the local community, enjoy working in collaboration with key stakeholders and will possess the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary team. You will also be person-centred, recovery-oriented and attentive to consumers’ biopsychosocial needs. Your high level communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in partnership with consumers, carers, general practitioners and other services and supports will be essential to your success in this position.

Where you’ll be working:

Inverell is an exciting rural town located in the Tablelands Sector of Hunter New England Local Health District. Inverell is nestled in a picturesque valley beside the Macintyre River of NSW. This New England North West region is renowned for its proud pioneering history, its beautiful restored buildings, and the production of many fine gemstones from which Inverell has earned the epithet of ‘Sapphire City’. 

Information for Applicants:

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. 

A third COVID-19 dose is a requirement for Category A positions, as is one dose of the current Southern hemisphere influenza vaccine registered for use by the TGA. COVID-19 booster doses are highly recommended for all other health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases – this is a Category A position. Please read and understand NSW Health policy directive (PD2022_030). All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in the policy.

This position is full time however, part time/job share arrangements may also be considered.

An eligibility list will be created for future temporary full or part time vacancies.
