Mental Health Clinician (Supporting Minds LGBTIQAP+)
The Supporting Minds Service provides short-term (3 month) clinical and non-clinical, individual and group recovery-focused psychosocial support services to adults (16+); experiencing moderate emergent decline in mental health as a result of situational distress, or youth (12+) and adults (16+) identifying as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Asexual, Pansexual and other diverse identities (LGBTIQAP+) requiring culturally specific support in the Gold Coast region.
This position is responsible for the provision of short-term contemporary person-centred mental health services to individuals identifying as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Asexual, Pansexual and other diverse identities (LGBTIQAP+) requiring culturally specific support as well as provision to individuals experiencing situational distress arising from circumstances such as risk of homelessness, domestic violence, pending legal proceedings or significant financial hardship including:
- Assessment of customer mental health needs and formulation of relevant therapeutic plan
- Delivery of both individual and group programs
- Delivery of high-quality evidence-based intervention and advice
- Regular review of customer treatment plans and goals
- Consistent approach to suicide safety planning
- Provision of support to team members
- Hold some portfolio responsibilities as required

In this role you will deliver intervention as a part of a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) which aligns with the strategic goals of Mental Health Services and Wesley Mission Queensland (WMQ).
Whilst this role will be based at one of our central hubs at Arundel, as an employee of WMQ, you will be required to work across multiple community co-location sites.
