The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Occupational Therapists/Psychologists/Social Workers (Mental Health Worker – Acute Care Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Deliver clinical services aimed at maintaining optimal level of consumer functioning in the least restrictive environment
- Provide provision of care delivery in a variety of hospital and community settings
- Apply professional knowledge and skills in clinical decision making under the practice supervision
- Contribute to the clinical education of students and other less experienced staff in consultation with the support of senior clinical staff
- Provide comprehensive care to consumers with an acute mental health issue
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work
- AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapist/Psychologist only)
- Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (Social Worker only)
- Drive Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against – Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time (two positions)
- Base salary ranging from $104 816 – $112 236 per annum

The Acute Care Treatment Team provide 24 hour, 7 day a week specialist mental health care services. This team’s role is to be the first point of contact providing education, support, information, advice and referral. The Acute Care Treatment Team continuous roster operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Based in Southport and Robina.
